Do For Self's partnership with their counterpart MDC Construction Company helps these trainees to become union members.

Do For Self (DFS) Founder and CEO Dennis Muhammed believes that given the option, people needing a second chance would choose jobs versus jail. In 1993 when Dennis Muhammed began the work to train rival gang members in the construction and building management trades, he gained the moral and humanitarian support of Boxing Champ Muhammad Ali. The Champ helped Mr. Muhammed advocate for employment and training for public housing residents and others for 10 years.
