Biden, he did send out what he said. He announced that he's going to be sending out $770 checks for the residents that was impacted by the California fires. Now it may not sound like a lot, but in hindsight, when you have nothing, literally have nothing, it's a whole lot, all right, so all right. So just sending the love and the prayers. You got to get up off your butt and you got to go and do it, and that goes for me too, all right.

Um, I saw that you were at the city winery. I got questions for you. But that is a young lady. Look at you, you are stepping up. How was that experience? It was a good experience. I was crazy, as I was the first act, so I had to set the tone for the rest of the show. It was a showcase that I did with a good friend of mine. That helped me get on the show. I auditioned and everything they liked liked it and it was like, hey, come to the showcase. So that's what happened. Look at you, look at you, just you just getting on. I said we are happy, all right, so let's go into your album, all right. Um, well, let's start off with you.

What inspired you to make a switch? Because most of you all who don't know miss dominique was a gospel singer in a group. So what made you do the switch to an indie pop singer? Yeah, so I made the switch because I feel like that. Why do we have to be in a box If we have multi-genre music and God is a multifaceted God, why can't we be multifaceted? So let's be out of the box, okay. So I feel like I I can do each genre and I'm trying each genre as I go along and I'm finding out like, okay, yeah, this is kind of fun. So, yeah, I want to test my limits and go beyond that. So, yeah, that's why I made the switch. Nothing bad or anything. God is still my god. Okay, let's get that straight, he's still in my but I wanted to do more than that.

so, yeah, oh, very good. And what is your favorite genre right now? Because I know you rap and I know you sing and you can believe me, I went to her um release party. Yeah, so the girl can sing and she can, she can rap, she can do both. She's she's multi-titled it.

My favorite right now is the R&B side. The R&B side. I'm in between R&B and pop, but right now it's R&B. And who do you want to work with? Ooh, r&b. And who do you want to work with, oh, uh, r&b. Uh, maybe number one could be like brandy. Second, fantasia, third, um, chris brown, like it's a long list. So nothing, you have to say it, you have to speak it, you have to put it out there into the absolutely the universe got to hear what you want for sure, for sure, right, all right.

So, um, how is it different from being a gospel singer to pop singer? Now, how, how's it different? The difference because you were in a group, right, yes, yeah, yeah, I was with in a, uh, crystal group. It was called for short atdl, but it was called after the due order. Um, the difference between that and being a pop singer, I feel like when it comes to like Christian contemporary and gospel, you have to stay in that and it's hard to break out of that when people see you established with that per se and because I'm not yet mainstream. Um, yeah, you may have known me from a Christian contemporary background, but, um, I'm moving forward. I want to be established as multifaceted, so I want to go ahead and break the difference and and and be pop beap.

You know anything else after that? Edm, indian, like I, will learn different languages. I'm all for it. Like Spanish, I'm here, I'm coming for it, all OK, what?

What theme messages? What theme or messages can listeners expect from Unbecoming? All right, so this is your first solo album. So you wrote pretty much the whole album yourself, right? Pretty much, yeah, me and my husband and another artist, terrell Rayshon, as well as J Donnell Jamari Parrish for his government name. But yeah, I had help, but mostly, yes me, okay, and what kind of theme can we expect from your, from Unbecoming, when they go and listen to it?

So, overall, as far as Unbecoming is concerned, the theme is like happy-go-lucky it's okay to be weird and just happy and bubbly, just happy bubbly, and I love it. I love it. I'm actually going to play your video, which I have to edit it in, at the end of Unbecoming. I love it. I like that song, I really do. Thank you, it grows on you. You're like yeah, yeah, it comes out the gate like pew, yeah, definitely. In what ways do you hope your music will resonate with your previous gospel music audience or to your new audience? Oh for sure, um, I hope it resonates with people that, like I said before, it's okay to be yourself it's okay to authentically be yourself.

Uh, if you want to be weird, be weird. Everybody is weird. First of all, in in in the bible it said god made us. We were fearfully and wonderfully made. He didn't say we were all made the same, right. So it's okay to be yourself. You don't have to copy anybody. It's okay to be yourself, that. But that's what I want to have resonate with everybody, because we live in a world where they tell you what you need to, what to be, how to dress, what to do, things of that sort. Have your own mind, speak for yourself and create and be whoever it is that you desire to be hands down, and so that tells me that I'm becoming. You can't come up with that title man, because I'm becoming.

This is your song is definitely about being yourself. Yeah, yes, I'm. Even though it's looked at from a negative light, I'm switching it and making it a positive, because all the things that people may have told you, the things that you may have accepted or being negative, we're going to unbecome that. We're going to unravel that coil that was made and unravel that and just become something new. You're going to be that worm, that caterpillar, going to that cocoon and come out as something totally brand new, a butterfly. What can we look forward to in the future? Oh yeah, so yeah, I have, actually, I have about maybe two to three songs that's coming out real, real soon, real real soon. So look out for that on my page I'll share that very soon. So I have that coming up. I'm getting ready Actually I have a rehearsal right after this to record a show, whether it's a show or a movie, but I'm into acting, so I do that, and then I'll be doing some covers, some sheet mixes and I'll be coming up with that. So look out for that, all right, all right.

Well, talking about your album, you said got some more music coming up. What's your favorite on the album? That's hard to say, because I like them all, they're all. I think the, the one that resonates the most, is unbecoming, and then, um, supposed to be, and that's only an interlude, that's, that's not even a full song. It's supposed to be, I think, uh, resonates more as far as me is concerned, okay, and what does what, what, what, what do you want your legacy to look like?

Creative? I know we associate, um, everything as far as the rainbow like. I like colors, rainbow colors. I know that's associated sort of with the LGBTQ plus and I QI plus, but I want people to think of me as multifaceted and multicolored, because I like colors and it's okay to be yourself. So that's my legacy Be yourself, be you, be you, be you. You have to be you and that is the truth. Listen, I'm becoming okay, I love that, I really do. I love that title. You have no idea, I love that title, but I'm becoming has become described as the anthem of liberation and transformation.

Can you talk about the personal stories behind um, um, the standout track, unbecoming, and my hair? Because y'all have to, oh, my god, you all have to listen to my hair, okay, yeah, yes, yes, yes, that is a staple. My hair, for sure, because, listen, I just had a bob last week and now I got stitch braids. Look, listen, okay, all right, but yeah, um, I'm becoming, let's get into it.

So I went through some things as far as in my past that I feel like that I no longer desire to go through, because one of the things was when you grow up in a world, in a society, where they say, oh, you can't be a musician, you're not going to make money doing that, oh, you can't be a musician. You're not gonna make money doing that. Yes, you can if you work at it. Yes, you can if you meet the right people. Yes, you can. And, and I feel like my dreams were put on hold because, uh, uh, people thought that I should just make sure that I get a career that's gonna pay the bills.

We don't grow up in life just working. You know, um, like, like slaves, like that's that's going to pay the bills. We don't grow up in life just working, you know, like slaves, like that's not our purpose in life. We were not here, we were not put in this earth to be slaves and just work a nine to five, day to day. We have a purpose in life and that's what I'm trying to do. So that's what I'm purposing to do. I went through that Um and I accepted that Um, and then people would try growing up. People try to um shelter or put a uh, uh, you know the candle where you put a bushel over it and the light goes dim. Try to put a dim on my light. And as far as singing. So I will tell you right now like I don't think that I'm 100% confident as far as singing is concerned, but I can sing. But I feel like I'm more multifaceted in my rapping and I can be more creative in that vein. So it's kind of my singing is like but other people's like, why do do it? Why Do it, do it, do it, don't be afraid to do it. So I'm like, okay, I'm going to step out and unbecome all those things that people said that I couldn't, could not do, and go for it. And you know what I like.
